About Select Auto
Select Auto was founded in 1997 by Larry and Susan Bevington on the principles that consumers should be able to save money by purchasing a pre-owned vehicle that looked and drove like a brand new vehicle, and that buying a vehicle should be easy.
Six years later, in 2003, their son Dan and his wife Rachelle joined the family business. Dan learned about his Dad’s philosophies for buying cars and treating customers like family and put these lessons into practice by buying and selling cars. Rachelle learned from her in-laws how to manage the business and before long she would manage the business office.
In 2009, Brad Taylor came to work at the dealership as a salesperson. His work ethic and the relationships he built with customers enabled him to work his way through the ranks to finance manager, and sales manager, and to become the general manager of the dealership in 2020. At Select Auto, we do not have salespeople, instead, Brad and Dan provide personal service before, during, and after the sale. You will not find nicer, friendlier, more helpful people in a dealership anywhere.
In 2021, Dan and Rachelle were honored to purchase Select Auto from their parents/in-laws. A lot has changed since the dealership was established but the principles Select Auto was founded upon are still the mission today. We only offer like-new used vehicles, and the process of purchasing a vehicle from Select Auto takes minutes not hours. selectautoky.com
In 2022, Ellie (16) and Mallory (14) said they wanted to follow in the footsteps of their grandparents and parents and own their own businesses one day. Dan, Rachelle, and their daughters had a brainstorming session and decided to combine the girls' love of shopping with their mother's college degree in apparel merchandising, utilize rent-free space in Select Auto, and open a gift shop/boutique. Neat Down South was established as a way to teach the next generation of Bevington's about business and entrepreneurship. It started as a shelf in the corner and quickly grew to encompass every square inch of floor space in the showroom. Neat Down South specializes in custom shirts apparel, and gifts for any occasion. The store has been a tremendous success, and it has taught the girls so much about the value of hard work and the importance of building personal relationships with customers. neatdownsouth.com
In 2023, Ellie Bevington started a non-profit charitable organization called Helping the Hardworking. She raises money from businesses and individuals in the community and uses the money to support local small businesses. She purchases gift cards from these businesses and then awards them to people who are nominated for being hardworking individuals in the community during the holidays. Ellie was featured as the BIG STORY! on WTVQ evening news for her work as a young female entrepreneur and for her charity: www.wtvq.com. helpingthehardworking.com
